Suite No. 3 in C Major for Solo Cello
Excerpt: Sarabande, Bourée 1 and 2
Performed by musicians of the Australian National Academy of Music. A reimaged version of the solo suite. The Prelude, Allemande and Sarabande are largely unchanged from the original, adding only the imagined continuo line. The Bourées, Courante and Gigue are reimagined as tutti movements, in the style of Bach’s own orchestral suites.

Commissioned by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. This song from Josh’s 2008 album Chimey’s Afire is one of seventeen songs arranged by ten Australian composers for this concert, which has been performed with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra and was released as an album ‘Josh Pyke - Live at the Sydney Opera House’.
At the ARIA Music Awards of 2016, the album won the ARIA Award for Best Original Soundtrack, Cast or Show Album.
