Jared is a composer, violist, and concert curator who is passionate about bringing people together through transformational artistic experiences. He is also a member of the Ad Lib Collective, a group of musicians who are focused on performance creation, community engagement and collaboration with a wide variety of artists.

As a composer, he has studied with Christopher Tonkin, James Ledger, Iain Grandage, Brian Fernyhough, Fabien Lévy and Oscar Bianchi, the latter three at the Voix Nouvelles course at the Royaumont Foundation in France. His works and arrangements have been commissioned and performed by the West Australian Symphony Orchestra, the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, the Perth Symphony Orchestra, the Penny Quartet, the Australian National Academy of Music as well as by individual artists from around Australia.

Jared has performed with many ensembles and artists and is comfortable in a wide range of genres. Some highlights include working with Simone Young conducting the West Australian Symphony Orchestra, Tim Munro (contemporary flautist and previous member of Eighth Blackbird), Sleep D (Melbourne-based electronic music producers) and Musica Viva for a national tour in 2021. In 2015, Jared was the recipient of the Royal Over-Seas League Prize. This saw him travel throughout the United Kingdom, performing at St. James Church Piccadilly, The Lake District Summer Music Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

In 2021, Jared completed his instrumental training at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) in Melbourne with Caroline Henbest.

In 2016, he completed his Master of Music (Research) in viola performance with Paul Wright at the University of Western Australia (UWA). His thesis closely examined the compositional philosophies of Hungarian composer, György Kurtág, as seen in Signs, Games and Messages (1989).
